

You can install the VMware Tools right after installing the operating system.

The VMware Tools are drivers and utilities that help you improve the performance of your VM (color depth, sound, ability to copy and paste, etc.) and user experience. **Status:** Select **Connect at Power On** to ensure that the device is connected to your VM when the VM is powered on.

Then select the ISO image file from the Content Library. **Content Library ISO File:** Upload the ISO file to the Content Library. Then upload the ISO file of the installation disk to the datastore attached to that host. **Datastore ISO File:** Decide which ESXi host you need to create a new VM and install the OS. **Client Device:** Insert an optical disk into DVD-ROM on the same machine that you run a VMware vSphere Client to boot the OS installer.

**New CD/DVD Drive:** To install the OS, you need to set up your CD/DVD drive to boot from the OS installation media. In my case, I connect the VM to the *10.10.23.0/24* network.

**New Network:** Connect a virtual network adapter of the VM to a selected network. In my example, I have Thin Provision as Disk Provisioning type. You can also add other devices, such as network adaptors and CD-Roms. If you intend to use multiple virtual disks, click **Add New Device>Hard Disk**. **New Hard disk:** Select the disk size and ( ): Thick Provision Lazy Zeroed, Thick Provision Eager Zeroed, Thin Provision. However, there are some settings that you should configure. When it comes to configuring virtual hardware, you can rely on default settings for the most part.
